RAZPOKA
a festival of renovation and sustainable living

Museum of Architecture and Design MAO

Sustainable construction goes far beyond the goal of energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. It places man and his worldview at the center, which requires a balanced interweaving of the environmental, economic and social properties of the building. Modern man is aware of the past, the present and looks to the future with a new attitude towards the planet; he wants well-being in the building but also a sustainable attitude and non-invasive interaction with the environment. Mateja Panter and Jožica Curk see the Pneumatik Fashion jewelry collection as a neat and organized structure with a rational message, born from reflections on architecture and the space around us. We must protect planet Earth by being non-invasive to the space and careful with the objects. The jewelry expresses the author's view on the world.

JEWELRY BETWEEN FASHION, SCENOGRAPHY AND ARCHITECTUREE
Design Talk as part of the Slovenian Jewelry Week

Center Rog

What is the relationship between jewelry and architecture, what is the meaning of ornament as decoration in jewelry and space, and how can we explain the concept of architectural jewelry? Architecture is a space where the body resides, and the body is a space where jewelry resides. The first defines a limited space, the last represents the space that limits us with the body.

DESIGN CONFERENCE 2023
growing up with design

Design Week, Ljubljana

Toys are an essential component of children's development, as they enable and encourage various forms of children's play. The toy market in Europe amounts to approximately 25 billion annually, with each child spending around 200 euros per year on toys. Toy design has its own specificities: they must be safe, they must encourage creativity, a didactic note is welcome, they allow for different ways of use, ... They represent a special challenge for the designer with shapes, colors and materials, as well as different ergonomics for children.

moderator: Kristina Dešman
table guests: Klavdija Höfler (Institute for Toy Development), Mateja Panter (architect and designer), Ervin Presiček (Gogix), Natalija Lapajne (Museum of Architecture and Design)

DESIGN KONSUM
press conference

Culture and Congress Centre Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana

The biennial selected exhibition of the Designers` Association of Slovenia wants to incite a critical scrutiny of the modern consumer society and also of the meaning of our first-rate Slovenian design, its evaluation and place in our daily life. Consumption of design paraphrases a filter which helps toward a better choice. Instead of cheap items of problematic production let us choose what lies in front of us on a plate. This would be a durable and long-term investment. By choosing good quality each individual can have an influence on our common future. The exhibition DESIGN KONSUM addresses a visitor /user straightforwardly, offering new options.
