RAZPOKA
festival of renovation and sustainable living
Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO)
Sustainable construction goes far beyond the goals of energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. It places people and their worldview at the center, requiring a balanced interplay of a building’s environmental, economic, and social characteristics. Modern people are aware of the past and the present and look to the future with a new attitude toward the planet; they seek well-being within a building as well as a sustainable relationship and non-invasive interaction with the environment. JEWELRY AMONG FASHION, SET DESIGN, AND ARCHITECTURE: A Conversation with
as part of Slovenian Jewelry Week
Rog Center
What is the relationship between jewelry and architecture? What is the significance of ornamentation as decoration in jewelry and in space? And how can we explain the concept of architectural jewelry? Architecture is the space where the body resides, and the body is the space where jewelry resides. The former defines a limited space, while the latter represents the space that limits us through the body.

DESIGN CONFERENCE 2023
Growing Up with Design
Design Week, Ljubljana
Toys are an essential component of child development, as they enable and encourage various forms of children’s play. The toy market in Europe is worth approximately 25 billion euros annually, with each child spending around 200 euros a year on toys. Toy design has its own specific requirements: toys must be safe, encourage creativity, incorporate educational elements, allow for various ways of use, and more. For designers, they present a unique challenge in terms of shapes, colors, and materials, as well as the different ergonomic considerations for children.
Moderator: Kristina Dešman
Panelists: Klavdija Höfler (Institute for Toy Development), Mateja Panter (architect and designer), Ervin Presiček (Gogix), Natalija Lapajne (Museum of Architecture and Design)

DESIGN KONSUM
Press Conference
Cankarjev Dom Cultural and Congress Center, Ljubljana
The biennial curated exhibition of the Slovenian Designers Society aims to encourage critical reflection on contemporary consumer society and to prompt thought about the significance of our own Slovenian, high-quality design, its appreciation, and its place in our daily lives. The consumption of design acts as a filter that helps us choose a better solution. Instead of cheap products of dubious origin, we use what is, so to speak, right on our plate. This will be a sustainable and long-term investment. Through quality choices, every individual can influence our shared future. The exhibition titled DESIGN KONSUM directly addresses the visitor/user and offers them new choices.
