Exhibition by members of the Slovenian Designers Society

Cankarjev Dom Cultural and Congress Center, Ljubljana

The MMXX biennial curated exhibition of the Society of Designers of Slovenia explores the relationship between the virtual and the real. The design exhibition transforms into a stage that clearly demarcates the external world from the internal, in which design, in all its manifestations, takes center stage—from the intimate world to the presence of the finished product in users’ reality. Mateja Panter is participating with the project House in Gorica.

IMAGES OF TIME an exhibition by members of the Slovenian Designers Society

Cankarjev Dom Cultural and Congress Center, Ljubljana

The purpose of the biennial curated exhibition organized by the Designers Society of Slovenia is to showcase the “best” achievements and solutions in the field of design from the Society’s inception to the present day. The Designers Society of Slovenia has been active for over sixty years, sharing its experience and knowledge with younger generations of designers. With the meaningful title of this retrospective exhibition, Images of Time, designers draw attention—through the personal perspective of the individual—to the changed circumstances in society and, consequently, in design, or rather to the pronounced individualization that sometimes borders on the egomaniacal manifesto we witness today. The exhibition Images of Time also presents the most resonant stories of the past, showcasing the heyday of successful Slovenian brands and companies—most of which have since disappeared or been sold off—that shaped success stories before or after independence.

: Stories of Beauty, Power, and Values from the 16th Century to the Present

National Museum of Slovenia

More than sixty carriers of symbolic imagery in the exhibition express their implicit or explicit messages through various forms of writing desks. Among them is the Pix-el workstation for the contemporary user, designed by Mateja Panter and Lenka Kavčič. A dedicated writing surface and storage space are no longer strictly necessary today, but the work environment of an individual’s life, centered around the desk, remains.

MOMOWO
Studio Open House

MoMoWo is the first project selected and funded by the European Union that is dedicated to female architects and designers—that is, women who are active in the fields of design and construction. The primary goal of the MoMoWo project is to identify and understand the factors that have hindered—and to some extent still hinder—the advancement of women in the liberal professions. The project invites us to explore the broader role of female designers and their social visibility in a globally changing world. This year, Mateja Panter’s studio is also opening its doors.
